Dr. Abdelillah Douda is a multifaceted academic, human rights activist, and community leader with a rich and diverse background. Born and raised in El Geneina, West Darfur, Sudan, Dr. Douda's upbringing instilled in him a deep sense of commitment to social justice and community empowerment.
After graduating from El Geneina High School in 1985, Dr. Douda pursued higher education at Omdurman Islamic University, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He furthered his studies at the Khartoum International Institute for Arabic Language, obtaining a master's degree.
Dr. Douda's professional journey took him to various corners of the world, beginning with his role as Assistant Manager at the Inderopiro Rural Development Project in West Darfur from 1989 to 1991. He later served as a university lecturer at the University of N'Djamena in Chad from 1997 to 2001, where he shared his expertise and passion for education.
In 2001, Dr. Douda relocated to the United States to pursue further academic endeavors. He attended Southern Connecticut University, where he earned another master's degree in 2005. Driven by his commitment to educational leadership, he embarked on a doctoral journey, earning his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership in 2023. Additionally, he holds a graduate certificate in Victimology from the University of New Haven, which he obtained in 2010.
Throughout his career, Dr. Douda has been deeply engaged in community initiatives and activism. He received training as a community leader through the New Haven Community Leaders Program in 2017, further enhancing his capacity to effect positive change.
Since 2004, Dr. Douda has served as a dedicated college Arabic instructor, sharing his language expertise and fostering cross-cultural understanding at institutions such as Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Hartford Seminary, the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Currently residing in New Haven, Connecticut, Dr. Douda manages his own educational consultancy project, where he continues to advocate for social justice, promote community engagement, and empower individuals through education. His tireless dedication to his academic pursuits, activism, and community leadership exemplifies his unwavering commitment to making a meaningful difference in the world.
